Nissan Leaf NISMO RC Ready to Electrify the NYC

Nissan will soon announce the racing variant of their Leaf electric at the New York Auto Show. This new Nissan Leaf NISMO RC has some common thins with its brother on the street. NISMO is using a li-ion battery pack and the stone leaf’s badging, then building a brand new vehicle with it. The result will has no doors, carpeting, navigation, or even a stereo system.

The battery pack has also been relocated to the middle of the car to provide you with a balance weight distribution. This NISMO RC is even said 40 percent lighter than the production model thanks to its fiber monocoque platform to make a total weight of 2,068 pounds. The racing version is also a foot shorter and 6.7 inches wider with 2.4 inches ground clearance.

As the Nissan Leaf NISMO RC is a different product, it still has some familiar resemblance with the production model, at least at the front fascia. Nissan is using LED lighting for the car, driver adjustable rear wing, and the Zero Emission graphics to let the viewers know that it uses no fossil fuel. This car has 107 horsepower and 207 pound feet of torque to make the car run from 0 to 60 in 6.85 seconds with a top speed of 93 mph.

Besturn B30 Looks like a 30-year old VW Jetta

Besturn B30 Looks like a 30-year old VW Jetta

For the exterior, you might think that this Chinese upcoming Besturn B30 is an appropriately modern, cheerful, and cheap car. But actually under its painting, you will find the skeleton of the Volkswagen Jetta second generation. Yes, this very affordable small sedan from China is more like a refreshed 30-year old Germany vehicle.

You might think that it is pretty strange decision to create a new car that is based on the old VW architecture. But if you really want to cut the price of your car, then the step is pretty sensible. The money that you saved for the new technology can be used to provide the car with a sleek wrapper, but still has its MSRP at the basement.

Actually, the second generation of Volkswagen Jetta is pretty popular in China at that moment. So, you can say that Besturn has done a good step by updating the look of the Jetta, but leaving the mechanical ability there. And with the yestertech origins, this Besturn B30 is using the enormous base of spare parts and some of the mechanical stuffs very well, even they still have to wait for its debut this week at Shanghai Motor Show.

A Teaser of Concept Universe from Volvo

A Teaser of Concept Universe from Volvo

Volvo has set an ambitious yet very high target to double their current volume by 2020 with the big part of their plan is penetrating their products to the Chinese auto market. That was really understandable if we see the booming Chinese market. Beside that, Volvo is now owned by a Chinese man, so it is getting more sensible.

Their first big step to realize that mission is by coming to the Shanghai Motor Show which will be held next week, as Volvo is said to be releasing their Concept Universe. For now, the details for this car is still very limited, but Volvo seems trying to tease us prior to the debut. In a short video, Volvo is showing more than just sketches, large, covered vehicle, with the shape of a very sleek sedan.

With this video, there are some curious questions. Will this Concept Universe be the precursor to the range topping S90 which the Volvo’s chairman Li Shufu seems to want? Or is it actually a four door coupe? Some of the teaser make it look like the new concept from Volvo will be a fastback. We will find the answer when the auto show is opened next week.

Angular Tirrito Ayrton R Undergo its Debut

Angular Tirrito Ayrton R Undergo its Debut

Previously, you might firstly see the Tirrito Ayrton with its razor edged head back in 2009. The car really looks like a scary monster if only it can make its way to the market of the supercar. This year, at the Top Marques Monaco, Tirrito is releasing the Ayrton R which is the lighter and more powerful version from the monster like model of transportation.

Moreover, beside its awesome styling things, the Ayrton R has the tuned version of the BMW 5.0 liter V10 engine under its hood which you can also see at the latest generation of the M5 and M6 car. That engine should be able to produce around 630 horsepower. That figure will sounds very good for anyone, but with a car that is weighing 1,980 pounds, it is downright ridiculous. If you count correctly, then it will be 3.3 pounds per pony rate.

Unfortunately, Tirrito still hasn’t released so much about how the performance figures run, but I expect that the performance will be as scary as the bodywork for this Tirrito Ayrton R. You can see the full gallery from Autoblog.nl here.
